T- HANDLE LOCKS
T-Handle Locks are designed for vending machines, thanks to their design and practical security features. These locks usually come in two variants. First of all, there is the spring latch which allows the device to be relocked without the inclusion of a key and the dead latch which requires a key in order relock its security mechanism. Most vending machines have built-in T-Handle locks, so there's no need to worry about installing. However, if your particular machine does not have this lock then installing one is a relatively simple process.
FURNITURE LOCKS
Furniture locks are designed for cabinets, desks and sliding lock doors, and they come in two varieties: Bolt Style and Push Button Style. Bolt style furniture locks are typically used on desks and cabinets, whereas push button style furniture locks are installed on filing cabinets and sliding doors. Furthermore, it’s also worth mentioning that furniture locks may be installed on hardware which do not have any built-in locks, such as simple wooden cabinets for example.
CAM LOCKS
Cam Locks are the ideal locks for cabinets and mailboxes. These types of locks come in various lengths, and they all feature a variety of tailpieces or cams to interact with other locking mechanisms.
The great thing about cam locks is that they come in several varieties. For example, there are cam locks which rotate clockwise and others which rotate counter-clockwise. Furthermore, there are also cam locks which can rotate 90 degrees, and others that can rotate 180 degrees. So you have plenty of options to choose from. Just be sure to get a cam lock which is appropriate for your particular cabinet or mailbox.
WALL MOUNTED LOCKS
Wall mounted locks are locks that have many uses. They can, for example, be used as small safes and key storage. They can also be installed on various wall mounted devices, like fireboxes and glass cases for example.
Installing a wall mounted lock is also quite easy, and most of them can be mounted on various wall surfaces. What's even better is that many wall mounted locks come with built-in alarms, which is useful for deterring burglars.
ADDITIONAL REMINDERS ABOUT CHOOSING LOCKS
The different locks mentioned here are specialized security devices, which means that they are not particularly effective on those items which they are not designed for. This is also why most people haven’t heard about these things: They are not very versatile compared to padlocks or deadbolt locks.
